DSL (Digital Subscriber Line)

A network connection that typically connects private networks to the internet. There are many forms available but the most common are ADSL and SDSL. The ‘A’ in ADSL means asynchronous. The bandwidth associated with this service is not the same in both directions. The download speed is far greater than the upload speed. The ‘S’ in SDSL means synchronous. Here the download and the upload speeds are the same. Speed may vary from 128 kilobit per second, up to 9 megabit per second.
